Ruth Alexandra Elisabeth JonesĀ (born 22 September 1966) is a Welsh actress, comedian, writer and producer. She co-wrote and co-starred in the critically acclaimedĀ BBCĀ sitcomĀ Gavin & StaceyĀ (2007ā2010, 2019, 2024), for which she won theĀ BAFTA Award for Best Female Comedy PerformanceĀ in 2025. She also co-wrote and starred in theĀ Sky OneĀ comedy-dramaĀ Stella (2012ā2017), for which she was nominated for theĀ BAFTA Award for Best Female Comedy PerformanceĀ and theĀ BAFTA CymruĀ Award for Best Screenwriter. Jones has appeared in various television series, includingĀ Fat FriendsĀ (2000ā2005),Ā Little Britain (2003ā2007),Ā Nighty NightĀ (2004ā2005),Ā SaxondaleĀ (2006ā2007) andĀ The StreetĀ (2009).
