Biography
Robert Brydon JonesĀ is a Welsh actor, comedian, impressionist, presenter, singer and writer. He gained prominence for his roles in film, television and radio. He was appointedĀ Member of the Order of the British EmpireĀ (MBE) inĀ Queen Elizabeth II's Birthday Honours in 2013 for services to comedy and broadcasting and charitable services. Brydon gained fame for his roles in the black comedy seriesĀ Human RemainsĀ (2000), theĀ mockumentaryĀ seriesĀ Marion and GeoffĀ (2000ā2003), the chat show spoofĀ The Keith Barret Show (2004ā2005), and the comedy seriesĀ Supernova (2005ā2006). From 2007 to 2024, he playedĀ Bryn WestĀ in theĀ BBCĀ sitcomĀ Gavin & Stacey,Ā for which he received aĀ BAFTA AwardĀ nomination for Best Comedy Performance. He has acted in several films withĀ Steve CooganĀ for directorĀ Michael Winterbottom, starting withĀ 24 Hour Party PeopleĀ (2002) andĀ A Cock and Bull StoryĀ (2005). Brydon and Coogan then starred inĀ The TripĀ (2010), followed byĀ The Trip to ItalyĀ (2014),Ā The Trip to SpainĀ (2017), andĀ The Trip to GreeceĀ (2020). He has also acted in the filmsĀ CinderellaĀ (2015),Ā The Huntsman: Winter's WarĀ (2016),Ā Holmes & WatsonĀ (2019), andĀ Barbie (2023). Since 2009, Brydon has presented theĀ BBC One comedy panel showĀ Would I Lie to You?Ā after previously playing himself as host of a fictional panel show inĀ Rob Brydon's Annually Retentive, which ran onĀ BBC ThreeĀ from 2006 until 2007. In addition to presenting his late-night chat show,Ā The Rob Brydon Show, for two years, he hosted the 2014 Saturday-night game showĀ The Guess ListĀ forĀ BBC One.
